In-Home Safety Assessment

Rocky Mountain Childproofing, LLC, at your invitation and by appointment, will tour your home with you to discover the potential safety issues unique to your home. During this assessment process, recommendations and safety information will be provided so parents can address any potential issues. Recommendations may include changes in habits and behavior or simply moving things around. Generally, safety products will be needed to ensure that the environment becomes the controlled environment you desire. Rocky Mountain Childproofing, LLC will responsibly recommend the items to best fit your individual needs. The consultant will keep track of the recommendations that you would like to have completed and customize an estimate tailored to your needs. You remain in complete control of what you want done. Assessments can take from about 1 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the home and the discussions we engage in. It is about the safety of your home and questions are encouraged. Additionally, we utilize many other products that cannot be found in stores. Items that are best suited for some situations do not always meet every need. We carry a variety of quality products to best fit the multitude of situations we may encounter.

Our products are competitively priced, often for less than you would pay at a retail store. We stand behind the manufacturer warranty so if you have any problems with any products you purchase from Rocky Mountain Childproofing, all you have to do is call and we will work to resolve any issues.

Professional Installation

Depending on the items you wish to have installed, some may be installed same day, others may require a second appointment due to product orders and delivery time.

Purchasing the correct safety items is just a step of the childproofing process. Installing the equipment correctly can be challenging for any homeowner. More often than not, you may need several different types of latches within the same room, such as the kitchen, and they all install somewhat differently. Stairs and banisters pose additional problems such as irregular shapes, uneven wall surfaces or nice woodwork you are reluctant to put holes in. To prevent potentially costly damage to your home, let us do the work for you. Rocky Mountain Childproofing, LLC knows how each of the items is to be installed and appropriately does so to manufacturers’ instructions. In order to do this correctly, as is the case with many safety gates, proper mounting systems sometimes need to be custom fabricated. We can accomplish this on-site to minimize any permanent modifications to your home. After all, these items will at some point be removed.

Installations can usually be accomplished in 2-5 hours, depending on the items desired and the level of customization required.

We take pride in what we do and strive for only the highest level of customer satisfaction. If you have a problem with any item we install, please contact us. If the problem was caused by our workmanship, we will correct it free of charge. Any normal wear and tear items will be charged a repair fee.

Please be aware that most items are generally designed to protect children up to 24 months of age. Some kids learn how to defeat safety devices sooner, others later. When this happens, consider changing to more advanced devices or reorganize what you are locking up. Either way, do not rely on the device for the safety of the child once they figure things out. Children are very smart and they learn by watching you. A way to delay the children’s knowledge of the device is to operate the device out of view of the child and to deter investigation of the device/area as long as possible. Remember, nothing is a substitute for proper, full time supervision. Additionally, most childproofing devices are not designed to withstand abuse or the strength of adults and can be damaged or broken if forced. If a safety item is accidently damaged, replace it.
